Congrats to all for making the Design Team 2016. What an amazing team full of creativity and inspiration. Can't wait to see what you share with us this term.
I would also like to thank those that are leaving for you contributions to our online family: Ginni Gass and Cheryl Nyboer. So glad to know you'll be hanging out with us.
This is the best ever forum team I have been with. Not only do they share creative challenges, fun mini crops, some fabulous special celebrations but they support each other and make the Turtle a fabulous place to hang out. Hope you'll join us and become part of our family too.
I'm a bit late with this post, but the first sketch for December is up at Sketches in Thyme
Its a beauty of a sketch and I cant wait to get creative with it. There is a fabulous White Pines paper pack up for grabs to entice you to play along.
Bev Code, the DT Cordinator at Turtle Soup put this together, and it is awesome. Filled chock-a-block with Christmas and winter styled layouts, cards, tags, and other projects. Wowwee, it is well worth looking through. Trust me!!
Have you seen the awesome job the Mavens have done with the Smash up sketches at Sketches in Thyme. This particular team use the 4 sketches during the month and combine bits or a lot from all or some of them to create a masterpiece to call their own.
Brilliant idea, sensationally executed. Great work fellow Mavens - I am in awe,
These are Novembers 4 sketches:
Maven Sara took the background from Sketch #174, layered the photos and layers and tags from Sketch #172 and used the title placement from Sketch #173.
Maven Sandy used sketches 171 and 174. She used more than one photo and tags from sketch 172 and multi paper strips in the middle and some ink drops from sketch 174.
Maven Sammy used sketches 172 and 174 for background inspiration in the fresh and fun layout!
Maven Carolyn chose to stick closely to sketch 172 to create this colorful and fun Jumping Monkeys layout.
Next, Maven Jules used circles from 171 and banners from 173 to create this Chillin layout. It is such soft sweet colors and so dainty for that lovely little doll!
Maven Sharon used sketch 172 as it spoke to her when she thought about scrapping this layout about her grandson and his mother, stunning!
Finally, Maven Susan chose to create a two page layout using bits and pieces from each sketch featured this month. Fabulous way to allow sketches to inspire your happy scrapping!
I told you they were sensational!!
Head on over and try them out - you know you want to
I used some of my favourite Maja Designs papers, with lots of covered chipboard and ink splatters.
The photo is not the best as I took it off a video of Sam clearing 1.93m at the high jump at the Oceania Area Athletics Championships in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, June 2014, whilst representing Regional Australia in the U20 boys Octathlon. This jump qualified him to represent Tassie at the 2015 Australian Junior and Age Championships which were in Sydney in March this year. He finished 4th in the Octathlon - a mere 40 points off a bronze medal. An awesome effort
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you head on over to Sketches in Thyme and enter the challenges, which run all month.
I have stumbled across a new place to call my scrapping home :)
This is a forum filled with all things scrappy. Awesome challenges, great daily questions, scrappy and no scrap related chat - all the things you would like in a scrappy home away from home.
I urge you all to venture on over and have a look around - I did, and I loved it.
Here is a rundown of the wonderful monthly challenges that are available to do:
Sunday Cards Sketch plus twist optional Monday Sketch ( layout, cards or tags or ATC's) Tuesday TTT (tools, techniques, tips) (copics, digital etc) Wednesday Stash ( use up your stash) Thursday Scraplift (members from our gallery) Friday Inspiration (pinterest, ads, photos, colour, quotes, Blog inspiration) Saturday All Sorts (labels, flags, tags, party favours, ATC's, mixed media etc) PLUS every month will have PROJECT 12 with Lisa Moen

Play a lot or only join in on only the things that interest you.. but you have the choice about how much you play along with.... but with lots of options. *******************************************************
There is a super talented Design Team who lead the way through all the challenges, and there are special challenges in some months as well. Go on, head over and check it out :) Deb :)
Why dont you head on over to the Sketches in Thyme blog and enter the amazing sketch challenges on offer. You can even win some gorgeous papers. Who doesnt need paper??
Each week a new sketch is released and the talented Mavens work with it.
It will be my turn with sketch #174, which will be published on Nov 22, and my example goes live on Nov 26. Cant wait to show you my first effort, this time round. I actually love the layout, although the photo I used was taken from a video so is very ordinary.
Wanna sneak peak?
You have to wait now until the 26th to see the finished layout!!
